The TIAPEI Careers in Tourism and Careers in Culinary are delivered to high school and post-secondary students across PEI. The goal of these presentations is to share with the students that Careers in Tourism and Culinary are dynamic, and that the industry is very broad. We will share stories of my experience working in the industry, and we will discuss the five sectors of Tourism and positions available for each.

The Careers in Tourism Presentation is geared towards Career Exploration or Tourism and Hospitality focused classes. We will explore the five sectors of tourism and look at the positions available for each, we will also look at educational pathways that could be taken to advance in the industry. We strongly encourage as much interaction as possible; it makes the experience more valuable for the students.

The Careers in Culinary presentation is an excellent experience for students who are in a cooking class, or foods and nutrition class. We will bring in an Island Red Seal Chef, and they will share experiences on what it was like growing through the industry, they will also prepare a small dish for the students to sample. The Chef requires a kitchen area with a stovetop and a frying pan, and we would appreciate if we were advised of any dietary restrictions the students might have.

These presentations typically take the full hour and 15-minute period but can be adjusted to meet the needs of your class. We will do everything we can to work with your class’s availability.
