PEI Writing Retreat Returns in 2021
Write by the Sea retreat to be held in Victoria-by-the-Sea, PEI, August 12-15
Writers will gather once again this August for an annual summer writing retreat in Victoria-by-the-Sea, PEI.
Hosted by Island writer Trevor Corkum, Write by the Sea offers both new and experienced writers the chance to dive deeper into a writing project in a supportive and collaborative environment. The retreat consists of morning writing workshops, one on one time with the instructor, group meals and optional activities like yoga and theatre. The retreat is limited to a small group of writers and will follow all provincial health protocols. As of July 28, PEI is expected to open its borders to travellers from across Canada who have been fully vaccinated.
“It’s been a tough year,” says Corkum. “As writers, I know we’re anxious to gather together again to discuss the art and craft of our writing, to share our successes and read our work. Write by the Sea offers us a chance to do that safely and to nurture new friendships and connections.”
Trevor Corkum is author of the forthcoming novel The Electric Boy (Doubleday Canada). He has written for a range of Canadian publications including the Toronto Star, The Globe and Mail, The Walrus, and Halifax Magazine. He facilitates workshops, retreats, and writing seminars across Canada and around the world through One Life Writing.
