Murphy Hospitality Group and CMHA Present 4th Annual Self <3 Saturday
Murphy Hospitality Group is once again partnering with the Canadian Mental Health Association – PEI Division on April 24th, for the 4th annual Self <3 Saturday. This year’s event will feature a day full of wellness activities, seminars, music and comedy at the PEI Brewing Company; with all proceeds going to support CMHA youth programs on PEI such as suicide prevention, addiction services, and self-help groups. Murphy Hospitality Group is encouraging Islanders to come out and support a cause that is more important than ever.
“We are so pleased to be able to bring back this event after a pause due to COVID last year. We are so fortunate on PEI to be able to safely host events like these in a year where support for maintaining and improving the mental health of our community is more important than ever”, said Kelley Gillis, event organizer and manager of Murphy Hospitality Group’s Catering & Events division. “With the tremendous impact COVID has had on our industry and the majority of MHG’s employees being in the 15-25 age group, youth mental health is a cause that is near and dear to us.”
The format for this year’s event will be different than previous years to ensure COVID safety measures can be followed. The day will begin at 10:00am with Modo Yoga Charlottetown leading a 60-minute accessible full body flow class to get the energy flowing and bring movement and mindfulness into your day. At 11:00am, Modo Yoga will lead The Workout; a 45-minute mind and body workout that combines energizing music, plyometrics and yoga inspired strength-based exercises. Tickets to each class are $20. From 12:00 – 6:00pm drop into the PEI Brewing Company Taproom throughout the afternoon and enjoy live music, comedians and mental health seminars by donation, raffles and more.
