Below is the contact information for the Regional Tourism Associations in PEI.
TIAPEI is committed to providing its industry with the most up-to-date information for industry reference. An industry and government commitment to more timely tourism indicators statistics has led to the development of an occupancy reporting system that provides monthly statistics along with other key tourism indicators statistics of industry performance.
Through the Tourism Industry Act, it is mandatory for all accommodation operators – fixed roof and campgrounds – to file occupancy reports on a monthly basis, for each month they are open. The data compiled through occupancy reporting make it possible for the Tourism PEI to report on occupancy rates (ie. the percentage of unit-nights available that are rented) and as well as the origins of those renting the rooms.
Occupancy statistics and origin data provides insight into the performance of the accommodation industry, and helps to identify emerging markets.
The Wood Islands ferry service is an important transport linkage for visitors (to PEI and in particular Eastern PEI) and contributes to the “Island mystique” in positioning the province as a leading global coastal destination.
Gentle surf strokes sandy beaches alongside red cliffs and wind-sculpted dunes. Cycle a seashore path, savour a picnic by a lighthouse and spot heron wading in coastal bays. Hike woodlands and overlook ponds watching for red fox, waterfowl and warblers, then head to one of many beaches to build spectacular sandcastles. At sunset, roast marshmallows over a campfire listening to tales and songs – Prince Edward Island National Park is a giant playground for kids of all ages.
Tourism is a critical driver of economic activity, employment, and tax revenue for Prince Edward Island, and Canada.
